No amount of yarn is too much yarn.

If you know anyone who does any type of fiber craft, you know what their hobby really is, YARN HOARDING.    When we lived in the farm house, I had my own craft room full of goodies.  Sewing, stained glass, beads, paint, and so much more.   I could have filled the camper with the amount of crafting materials I owned.   It all went to a local church, except one thing.  The yarn.   I couldn't part with it.    Yep, I'm all about that fiber.   I like to pet it.  I like to squish it.  Not to mention if it has some type of flashiness to it.  The color combinations are endless and the fiber content varies.  What the yarn is made from will greatly impact how you care for your finished item, but that's a whole other conversation.  For now, we are talking about hoarding or yarn stashes.   More importantly, where do you keep yarn in an RV?   The answer is everywhere.   ...

First item sold

Well it happened today.  I sold my first item.   It's funny to say that I have mixed emotions.   I know I can't keep everything but I love everything I make.  Selling only makes sense so I don't have a ton of crochet in the RV.   However, the lady that bought it will take great care of it, and she loves it so that brings a lot of joy to me.  It was amazing to see how much she enjoyed it and kept petting it as we were talking.   Here I am modeling the pocket shawl that sold today.   And you know what I did with the money?   I immediately went to Hobby Lobby for more yarn.  Yes, more yarn.  I told the hubby the only thing that's more addictive than crochet is yarn.   And the only thing more addictive than yarn are crochet patterns.  Here's another look at the shawl.   In shopping for yarn, I am planning on making another one of these.  Off to Hobby Lobby for a customer ...

Crochet Camper says hello

Image
Greetings!   There are many ways to say hello and introduce ones self.   I think it's important to understand basic highlights of my story without going into all the specific details.   I say this but really my life is an open book of many colorful pages.  If you have a question, please ask! It has been a dream of mine to live a simple life since I ventured out on my own as a teenager.  I have the heart of a nomad, although I spend most of my time in the same area.  It's a lot harder to be a nomad than one would think while still earning a living.   I traveled in my youth, then became a mom and grew some roots.   Sometime in the middle of all that, I survived cancer, became a nurse, broke my back, survived cancer a second time and my son grew up and moved out on his own.  Needless to say, I experienced some things that pushed me into pursing my dreams.   2018 was one of the more eventful years for me.  ...
